Professor Jan Lindsay’s Inaugural Lecture Insights into volcanic risk from Auckland to the Antilles, Andes and Arabia.

DEVORA is celebrating Jan’s promotion to the rank of Professor at the University of Auckland. This is a outstanding achievement and represents Jan’s successful career to date. On the night Deputy Dean of Science Professor Douglas Elliffe remarked “Over her career at the University of Auckland she has supervised over 30 postgraduate research students and including 12 PhDs, has over 100 publications, and a I10 index of 74”. 

This lecture follows Jan’s globetrotting research studying magmatic and volcanic systems, and societal resilience to natural hazards. Along the way Jan covers the research successes of her doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers, many of whom where present to mix, mingle and celebrate.
